The University of Library Science and Information Technologies and the Sofia District Court signed a framework contract for joint activity and cooperation. The signatures in the document put the heads of the two institutions – Prof. Dr. Irena Peteva, Rector of UniBIT, and Alexander Angelov – Chairman of the Sofia District Court, announced the boutique university of Bulgaria.
The purpose of the concluded agreement is to carry out coordinated actions to increase the quality of the educational, research activity and administrative capacity, by conducting internship programs and other joint initiatives. The heads of both institutions consider the important role of training in ensuring a functioning, efficient and authoritative judicial administration, as well as the need to increase the administrative capacity of the largest court in the Republic of Bulgaria in combination with the requirement for prior specialized training of the future personnel of the judiciary administration.
One should not forget the fact that years ago, when its rector was Prof. Stoyan Denchev, UniBIT had a special bachelor's program "Information Technologies in Judicial Administration", where all the graduates were directly accepted for work at the Sofia District Court. Now this program has been refined and has its continuation in a Master's training course.
In addition to the heads of the two institutions, the meeting was attended by the Deputy President of the Sofia District Court, Ms. Boyana Petrova, the President of the Board of Trustees of UniBIT, Prof. D.Sc. Stoyan Denchev and part of the administrative management of UniBIT, in the person of the vice-rector for research and international activity Prof. Teresa Trencheva, the deans of the faculties of the University and their deputies.
At the bilateral meeting after the official signing of the contract, Prof. D.Sc. Stoyan Denchev, long-time rector of UniBIT and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the higher school, emphasizes the positives of the joint work between two of the most authoritative institutions in Bulgaria. Prof. Dr. Irena Peteva emphasized the importance of implementing an internship program, within the framework of which students from the University of Library Science and Information Technology would go through training to acquire practical knowledge and skills in the various units of the specialized administration at the Sofia District Court.
„The organization of joint events such as public lectures, scientific events, discussions, seminars and round tables will contribute to increasing the professional qualification of employees in the administration of the judicial system and the level of administrative service to citizens and the legal entities“ concluded Angelov regarding the mutual benefit of signing the framework agreement.
