On July 6, 2024 (Saturday) on the "Palace" beach ; between the beautiful sea waves of the city of Balchik and the "Palace" - in the former resting place of the Romanian Queen Maria, the White City will host the eighth edition of the "Sand Creations" children's festival, announced its creator and organizer Martin Krastev.
Participants will have 1 hour to create the most beautiful thing they are capable of from sand and the gifts of the sea, and a jury of professionals in the field of culture and art will determine the winners of the special awards. This year's edition of “Sand Creations”, which is held under the auspices of the State Cultural Institute “Cultural Center “Dvoretsa”, is dedicated to the centenary of the creation of the Palace, which will be celebrated with a special surprise for the participants.
„What the festival “Sand creations” what stands out is the idea that it should be without a participation fee, to encourage children to art and to leave a wonderful memory of the summer season and the city of Balchik. It's a celebration where everyone gets medals and certificates, as well as an ice cream treat. Because it's worth it - There is nothing better than happy children's smiles!” – shared Martin Krastev.
The organizers are waiting for anyone who wants to get involved, reminding them to bring buckets and shovels.

For the seven editions (from 2016 to 2022 in Balchik and Albena), more than 500 children from all over the world took part in the festival.
From 2019, the “Sand Creations“ is included in the nationwide cultural calendar of the Ministry of Culture, and in 2022 it won the first special award for a volunteer mission of the National Representation of Student Councils in the initiative "Volunteer Mission – (not) possible“, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
