Roger Waters: No plans to play with Gilmour and Mason again - 1

Musician Roger Waters dismisses Pink Floyd reunion on stage, saying he is "busy with other things", including working on a new album and writing a memoir, reported "Reuters", quoted by NOVA.

In an interview with the agency, the guitarist, singer and songwriter shared that he enjoyed his time in the rock group, which he co-founded in 1965, but has no plans to play again with his two former live colleagues - drummer Nick Mason and guitarist David Gilmour.

Waters, the creative force behind albums like "The Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall", left "Pink Floyd" in 1985 after personal and creative differences.

Roger Waters was embroiled in legal disputes over the use of the band's name as his former bandmates carried on without him. He and Gilmour have been at odds for years in one of rock's most famous feuds, most recently clashing on social media over the Russia-Ukraine war.

When asked if the three would ever play together again, Roger Waters replied: "No, for what?" The musician adds that the idea of a reunion is like a nostalgic need for some people, but not for him. The last time Pink Floyd played together was at the Live 8 charity concert in London in 2005. Roger Waters then joined Mason, with whom he is friends, Gilmour and keyboardist Richard Wright on stage.

"We did it. And I don't regret it because Rick (Wright) was still alive and I'm very glad we had a chance to play some tracks together ", Waters.

"We played reasonably well and people liked it. So, I'm really glad. Do I want to do something like this? No, I don't want to, especially since only three of us are left alive," adds the musician. Wright died in 2008. Original frontman Syd Barrett, who left the band in 1968 due to erratic behavior fueled by drug abuse, died in 2006.

In May, Mason told Reuters he was open to the idea of a reunion, but Waters and Gilmour have no such desire. "I'm busy with other things... it has nothing to do with any malice or anything like that. People are different," says Roger Waters. "David and I are very, very different people and that's normal," he added.

Eighty-year-old Waters adds that he is currently working on his new album, called The Bar, as well as a memoir. "I've been working on it for a couple of years and now I'm kind of in the editing process. So I'm very busy," added Roger Waters.
