Rapper Isaac Freeman III, known as Fatman Scoop, died at the age of 53, Fox News reported.
On Friday, the artist was performing at a concert in Hamden, Connecticut, when he felt sick on stage and was hospitalized.
The peak of Fatman Scoop's popularity was in the first decade of the 21st century, when the artist won three "Grammy" awards, and his composition Be Faithful topped the music charts in 2003. The rapper collaborated with artists such as Mariah Carey, Lil John, Whitney Houston and Skrillex.
