San Sebastian Film Festival starts tonight, BNR reported.

Its 72nd edition promises good cinema and the brilliance of stars of the first magnitude. The 120-meter red carpet in the "Victoria Eugenia" theater is already waiting for them, write the Spanish media.

The festival in San Sebastian, which will last until September 28, will welcome stars such as Tilda Swinton, Pamela Anderson, Isabelle Huppert, Monica Bellucci, Johnny Depp, Franco Nero.

Cate Blanchett will be honored with the "Donostia" for a lifetime career, and also director Pedro Almodovar, who recently won the "Golden Lion" in Venice for his first English language film "The Next Room".

Javier Bardem will be presented with the honor he could not receive in 2023 due to the Hollywood actors' strike.

The chairman of the jury is the Spanish director Jaione Camborda, who last year won the "Golden Shell" for his film "The Roaring Horn".
Among the 15 productions that will compete for the prize this year are the post-apocalyptic musical "End" by Joshua Oppenheimer and the psychological thriller "Conclave", directed by Edward Berger.
