One of the iconic names in rock celebrates a round 70th anniversary . On October 10, 1954, the attractive David Lee Roth was born.
Despite his success as a solo artist, he is best known for his work as frontman for the legendary Van Halen. Nicknamed “Diamond Dave“ and the iconic splits on stage, Roth was a member of the band from 1974 to 1985, in 1996 and from 2006 to 2020, when the band disbanded.
Roth's peak with Van Halen came in 1984, when they released the album 1984 – their most critically acclaimed and commercially successful album – which includes hits like “Jump,” “Panama,” “Hot For Teacher" and “I’ll Wait.”
In 2007, Van Halen were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
