"Thanks to all those people who were by my side throughout the selection, preparation and meeting-conversation for the book - the authors of the book Vladimir Kaloyanov, a Bessarabian poet and Galin Georgiev - chairman of the association "Rodolyubets", Desislava Dimcheva - host of the event and journalist from BNT, my colleagues Velichka and Veli Chaushevi, Stefan Rangelov - photographer, Georgi Gogov - sound operator!
I also thank all the kind people who took their time so that we could be together and experience the emotional sharing with the presentation of the book!", added Lukov.
The book ''Bulgaria is my song'' is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the people's favorite singer Iliya Lukov and the 30th anniversary of the beginning of his creative career.
It is a collection of materials, documents and photographs reflecting the various aspects of his activities as a singer and as an organizer of assemblies and festivals, as an initiator of the construction of churches and chapels, the placing of bells, the support of orphaned children, the organization and holding the longest dance, for our relations with our compatriots abroad.
The collection includes interviews with his relatives and friends, correspondence, reviews and essays, as well as many photographic materials. The arrangement and presentation of this documentary evidence follows the pulse of the very time in which they were created.
Selected and quoted one after the other, the texts capture the voice of Iliya Lukov, as well as the people from his team on specific occasions, in a variety of situations, events, initiatives. However, they are not just credible and full of fresh, authentic emotions word. They are a kind of projection of the living life in which his songs are born and perceived, in which Iliya Lukov's music functions fully – to become history, a people's destiny. Created under the set of direct feelings, thoughts and experiences of the respective moment, event or initiative, these author's messages are used with great gratitude to their creators – journalists, editors, scientists, writers and poets, photographers.
