The Reverend Xenia of Rome was the daughter of a senator and bore the name Eusebia, which meant "pious".
Her parents betrothed her to a senator. She had decided to dedicate her life to Jesus Christ, so she ran away from home. She settled on the island of Koa. There she rented a poor house and asked to be called Xenia (stranger).
Later she was ordained a deaconess. She led a noble life. As strict as she was with herself, she was as merciful and gentle with her sisters.
