A study has revealed that 1/3 of British men seek refuge in their bathrooms, spending a total of seven hours a year in short moments of rest, NOVA reported.
The survey, which included 1,000 men, revealed various motivations for this behavior, ranging from seeking peace to avoiding household chores.
In addition to the pursuit of silence, men flee to the toilet to avoid nagging their partners, to look after the children and to enjoy solitude to spend time with their mobile phones. It is assumed that the bathroom serves as a refuge to disconnect from the outside world for a while.
