The Church honors St. Agapius today and the 6 martyrs with him - St. Agapius and his companions who suffered from the chief Urban in Caesarea Palestine. All except Agapius were very young and had not been baptized.
One day the young men watched how the Christians were tortured and, seeing with what patience they endured everything, they were inflamed with zeal for Christ, went to their chief Urban and said to him:
"We are Christians too!"
Urban's exhortations and threats were in vain. The noble Caesarean citizen Agapius also joined them. All were beheaded with a sword.
