Jeff Bezos' wedding in Venice: Authorities assure that peace will not be disturbed - 1

Authorities in Venice have confirmed that the city will host the wedding of multibillionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez, the Associated Press and AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

Despite rumors that the event will bring hundreds of celebrities and disrupt the peace of locals and tourists, the city government has categorically denied these claims.

The official announcement did not specify the exact date of the wedding, but according to Italian media, the celebrations will take place between June 24 and 26 and will last several days.

"The numerous speculations and fake news about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded," Venetian authorities said, quoted by the Associated Press.

Jeff Bezos is the founder and largest individual shareholder of "Amazon" (Amazon), as well as the owner of the "Washington Post" newspaper. Venice has already been the scene of celebrity weddings, such as that of George and Amal Clooney in 2014.

The city authorities have specified that only 200 guests will attend the wedding of Bezos and Sanchez. They will be accommodated in a way that does not disturb the tranquility of Venice, its residents and tourists. The city has a wealth of experience in hosting international events of much larger scale.

"Venice is used to being the scene of major events every week, without this having a significant impact on the city," the city said, citing as examples the G20 and G7 summits, architecture and cinema biennales, as well as numerous private events and VIP weddings.

According to reports in Italian and international media, the organizers of the Bezos wedding have already booked rooms in Venice's luxury hotels, as well as a large number of gondolas and water taxis for the end of June. However, authorities denied these allegations and assured that the main priority remains the normal functioning of the city.

“We work together and support the organizers to ensure that the event will be fully consistent with the fragility and uniqueness of our city,” said Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, quoted by the Associated Press.
