Jack Draper upends Matteo Berretini to claim first ATP title - 1

The British tennis player Jack Draper made a comeback in the final against the Italian Matteo Berretini after 3:6, 7:6 (5), 6:4 and won the tennis tournament on grass in Stuttgart ATP 250 with a prize fund of 734,915 euros, BTA reports .

Berettini was the better in the first set, after breaking in the fourth game for 3:1, which he later consolidated. So he closed the part at 6:3 in just over half an hour. The second half was much more even, with both taking their serve. Draper had two opportunities to win the set at 5:4 and the Italian's serve, but the latter defended himself and managed to equalize and then reach a tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, everything was equal until 5:5, when the Brit made a mini-break, and then converted a seventh point on his serve.

In the third set, Draper broke for 4:3, and at 5:4, he won the game with his serve at zero, taking the entire match in nearly 2 hours and 10 minutes of play.

It was the 22-year-old Draper's first ATP title since reaching the final of the Sofia Open last year. As of the new week, he will be #31 in the ATP rankings and will be the highest-ranked Briton.
