The world number 1 among tennis players Iga Swiontek from Poland was shocked in the third round of "Wimbledon” , being kicked out of the competition by Yulia Putintseva, reported FOCUS.

The tennis player from Kazakhstan won with 3:6, 6:1, 6:2 and exactly 2 hours on the court.

Putintseva achieved her eighth straight win and stopped Shviontek's streak of 21 consecutive victories.

For the athlete from Kazakhstan, this is the second success in her career against a tennis player who occupies the leading position in the world rankings. Until now, Putintseva had not reached the third round of "Wimbledon".

Jelena Ostapenko will be Yulia Putintseva's next opponent.

Ons Jabert also dropped out of "Wimbledon". The Tunisian, who is #10 in the ranking, lost 1:6, 6:7 (4) against #21 Elina Svitolina.

The Ukrainian, who played in the semifinals in London last season, needed 80 minutes to eliminate the finalist of the last two years.

Svitolina, who has four wins in a total of five matches against Jabert, did not allow a breakthrough in the match, which lasted 80 minutes.

In the next round, the Ukrainian tennis player will face Sinyu Van. The Chinese player, who defeated the Bulgarian Viktoria Tomova in the first round, prevailed 2:6, 7:5, 6:3 against the representative of the hosts, Harriet Dart.

18-year-old Anna Kalinskaya, 17th in the scheme, won 7:6 (4), 6:2 the Russian Lyudmila Samsonova, 15th seed.

In the fourth round of "Wimbledon" the Ukrainian will play 2022 champion Elena Rybakina, who knocked out former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark after a 6-0, 6-1 success in just 58 minutes of play.
