Kiril Milov became the European wrestling champion for the second time in his career!
He defeated Lucas Lazogiannis, competing for Germany, 7:1 in the 97 kg category, after beating him 7:0 in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Tirana this year, where he also became the champion!
Yesterday, our hero recorded one of his most valuable victories - over the legend Artur Aleksanyan (Armenia) 2:1 and qualified for the title match.
Kiril Milov already has 15 medals to his credit in the men's category. Two are silver from the world championships. From the European championships - two gold, two silver and one bronze. He has three gold medals from rating tournaments, where he also won one silver and one bronze. From the tournament "Dan Kolov - Nikola Petrov" he has won two gold medals and one bronze. Today he will be decorated with medal No. 15. He is also the Olympic vice-champion for cadets and second at the Balkan Junior Championship.
Abu-Muslim Amaev (67 kg) won a silver medal at the European Wrestling Championship, which is being held in Bratislava. Unfortunately, in the final he lost 1:7 to the Azerbaijani Hasrat Jafarov - third at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and two-time European champion. As of today, he is a three-time champion of the Old Continent.
Amaev qualified for the final of a major men's championship for the first time. So far, he had two bronze medals from continental championships - in 2023 and 2024. He already has a silver medal on his card. Which is a great success.
Bulgaria finishes the European Championships in Bratislava with 5 medals - gold for Magomed Ramazanov and Kiril Milov, silver for Semen Novikov and Abu-Muslim Amaev, bronze for Bilyana Dudova.
