"Hamas" has accepted the UN Security Council resolution on the ceasefire and is ready to negotiate the details, a senior official of "Hamas" Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters on Tuesday, adding that Washington must ensure that Israel complies, as quoted by News.bg.
"Hamas" adopted the UN Security Council resolution regarding the ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the exchange of hostages for Israeli detainees, he said.
"The US administration faces a real test to fulfill its commitments to force the occupation to immediately end the war in compliance with the UN Security Council resolution," Abu Zuhri said.
The council scheduled a vote Monday on the US resolution welcoming a cease-fire proposal announced by President Joe Biden, which the United States says Israel has accepted.
The Palestinian group on Monday welcomed the UN Security Council resolution supporting the Gaza ceasefire proposal.
The grouping is ready to participate in indirect negotiations to implement the principles "which are in line with the demands of our people and the resistance".
