Switzerland regularly exchanges information with Russia and intends to discuss the results of the Ukraine peace summit held in Burgenstock on June 15-16 with Russia, as well as with China and other countries that do not participated, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said at a press conference after the meeting, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
"We have a functioning embassy in Moscow and every two weeks we talk with the foreign minister, and we also intend to discuss the results of this conference with Russia," he said at the press conference.
"Please understand that I will not speak more specifically about this", the foreign minister said in response to a clarifying question about what exactly will be discussed.
Cassis recalled that during the preparations for the summit, the Swiss side saw that it was impossible to realize the intention of Russia being "at the table" from the beginning, but a promise was made that she would be there when the time came.
"So the question now is... when will we be able to take that step and what kind of path will be used, because not all the paths that we can imagine today will allow Russia to participate," he said the Swiss minister.
He has admitted that most of the decisions taken cannot be made without the participation of Russia. At the same time, Cassis emphasized that it was precisely from the point of view of the possible interest of the Russian side and the construction of a path to peace that three topics were chosen for the first summit - nuclear security, food security and the release of prisoners, as well as thousands of children.< /p>
