Ukraine's president said on his channel on the social network "Telegram" that the death toll from today's Russian strike on the city of Dnipro has reached five people, reported Ukrinform.
„According to current data, five people were killed, 47 were injured, including a child. All the necessary services are on the spot and the rescuers are helping the victims," Zelensky wrote. He noted that only two things can stop Russia – “modern air defense systems and long-range capabilities for our weapons”.
„The world can protect the lives of many people and resolve is required from leaders. A determination that can and should turn protection from terror into a norm again, Zelensky said.
Tomorrow, a day of mourning has been announced in Dnieper for those killed in the latest Russian missile attack on the city.
Meanwhile, according to data from local authorities cited by Reuters, there are 53 injured, and at least four of them are in serious condition.
Reuters also reported that a Russian missile strike in Ukraine's eastern Poltava region killed one person and injured three others.
Ukraine's air force said it shot down a Russian missile over the region. But the debris damaged a school and a kindergarten, announced the regional governor Filip Pronin.
Russia denies attacking civilians or civilian infrastructure.
