US President Joe Biden said he had ordered the US Secret Service to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of former White House owner Donald Trump. “Trump is already receiving heightened levels of security, and I have directed the Secret Service to provide him with all the resources and safeguards necessary to ensure his continued safety,” he said at the White House.

The president also noted that on the evening of July 13 he had a brief phone conversation with Trump, who is recovering from the assassination attempt.

The US president has ordered the US Secret Service to also review security measures at the Republican convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which begins on July 15. “I have instructed the head of the Secret Service to review all security measures at the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow,”, the American leader said, speaking at the White House.

According to Biden, he has also ordered an independent analysis of the events of the rally in Pennsylvania, where there was an attempt on former US President Donald Trump, “to find out exactly what happened”. He added that the results of this audit will be made available to the public.

The Republican National Committee said its convention, scheduled for July 15-18 in Milwaukee, will not be canceled or postponed. It is expected to confirm Trump as the official Republican candidate in the November 5 presidential election. The politician will take part in the congress.

Biden urged not to make premature assumptions about the motives of the criminal who attacked Republican Donald Trump and to wait for the conclusions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

„We still have no information on the shooter's motive, but we do know who he is. I urge everyone not to speculate on his motives or connections. Let the FBI and partner agencies do their job,” said the US leader, speaking at the White House.
