The number of Ukrainian refugees who entered the territory of Romania after February 10, 2022 exceeded 9 million, reported the Border Police Inspectorate.
Romanian authorities have been monitoring refugee trafficking from Ukraine since February 10, 2022, calling the period February 10-24 of that year the “pre-conflict period”. Thus, since February 10, 2022, 9,033,191 Ukrainians have arrived in the country.
Romania serves as a transit country for incoming Ukrainians, most of whom travel to Western European countries. According to media reports, more than 80,000 Ukrainian citizens are currently registered in Romania.
