Chairman of the Republican Party Eric Sciotti, who supported the union with the National Union Jordan Bardella and Marine Le Pen called the current situation a “democratic blockade”, during which key posts were distributed between the candidates of the presidential bloc. According to him, in this way the “representation of 11 million French” who voted for the deputies from the “National Association” was excluded. and the “Republicans” who supported an alliance with this right-wing party in the parliamentary elections two weeks ago.

Elections for deputy speakers of the National Assembly were held on Friday, as a result of which two of the six seats were won by representatives of the left-wing opposition party “Disobedient France”. Two representatives of the National Assembly, Sébastien Chenou and Hélène Laporte, who were vice-presidents in the last convocation of the parliament, failed to collect enough votes to keep their posts.
French President Emmanuel Macron called early elections for the National Assembly on June 9 following the defeat of the presidential coalition in the European Parliament elections. According to the results of the second round, held on July 7, most seats (182) were won by the left-wing coalition "New People's Front", leaving behind the ruling alliance "Together for the Republic".
