The Netherlands approved the use of weapons transferred to Ukraine for attacks against targets located on the territory of the Russian Federation. This statement was made by the Minister of Defense of the country, Ruben Brekelmans, in an interview with FAZ.
"Ukraine has the right to use our weapons on Russian territory for defensive purposes in accordance with international law," the official stressed.
He added that this approval also applies to the F-16 fighter jets. Breckelmans also called on other Western countries to follow suit.
"If Ukraine, which has the right to self-defense, is attacked from border areas or from Russian airfields, the same applies to enemy missiles – they can be intercepted by our weapons over Russia. The approval also applies to F-16 fighters, added the Dutch Minister of Defense.
