The Washington Post: White House Scales Down Efforts to Investigate Russian War Crimes in Ukraine

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is scaling back its efforts to investigate Russia's war crimes in Ukraine, The Washington Post reports.

Since taking office, the new president's team has taken steps to withdraw from the international group led by the European Union, scaled back the group's work within the U.S. Justice Department, cut back on the program to seize the assets of sanctioned Russian oligarchs, eliminated the position of coordinator of intelligence gathering on Russian crimes and disbanded its interagency task force.

House Democrat Jason Crow says "this administration is ready to let Putin go".
