A high-ranking Iranian commander repeated threats of a new military strike against Israel, but refrained from sharing details, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported today, quoted by DPA and BTA.
The news agency, believed to be linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that Ali Fadavi told reporters in Tehran that another operation would certainly be carried out. “It is not possible to comment on her details”, he added, however.
The statement followed similar warnings issued yesterday by Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran and Israel have been involved in escalating hostilities since April, when Iran first directly attacked Israel with more than 300 drones and missiles, DPA recalls.
The attack was preceded by an attack attributed to Israel on the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus, in which two Iranian generals were killed. Iran's leadership interpreted this as an attack on Iranian territory.
