The first section in the USA has already voted: a tie between Trump and Harris - 1

A small town in the American state of New Hampshire opened election day in the USA, France Press reported.

By tradition, the six voters in Dixville Notch, a remote hamlet in the middle of the New Hampshire woods on the northeastern border of the United States with Canada, start voting as early as midnight. The small number of voters logically leads to a quick conclusion of the election process.

This settlement's tradition of being the first to vote in the US dates back to 1960, earning the neighborhood the nickname "First in the Country".

After election day ended in Dixville Notch, the ballot counting began. Then the results were announced and they showed a tie between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump. Both get three votes.

Otherwise, polling stations on the US East Coast open between 6-7am local time.

New Hampshire election laws, however, allow localities with fewer than 100 residents to vote as early as midnight on Election Day and end when everyone on the voter list has cast their ballots.

In 2020, there were five voters in Dixville Notch and they unanimously voted for Democrat Joe Biden, France Press recalls.
