There is no absolute solidarity in the British government regarding whether Volodymyr Zelensky is the politician who can end the conflict in Ukraine. This is reported by journalist Mark Urban in an article for the weekly The Sunday Times.
According to him, in the fall of 2024, one of the members of the British government, in the position of deputy minister, called Zelensky “an obstacle to peace“. The name of the official is not reported. According to Urban, some civil servants in other European countries have a similar point of view, although they all publicly express support for the Ukrainian leadership. It is noted that Zelensky's remaining in power may mean the impossibility of substantive negotiations to resolve the conflict.
