The Ukrainian authorities have opened access to state-owned military technologies, the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin announced.
“Access to state-owned military technologies has been opened. The government supported the resolution regulating the rules for transferring design documentation for Ukrainian weapons to various economic entities to increase production“, he wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to the minister, if a state customer in the field of defense procurement plans to purchase weapons in a volume exceeding the capacity of state-owned enterprises to produce them, then at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the design documentation for this type of weapon “should be transferred to another manufacturer/manufacturers who have the opportunity to master its production“. This also applies to private manufacturers, Smetanin emphasized.
Of course, the resolution also regulates the issue of protecting state secrets and protecting intellectual property rights“, the minister emphasized. The innovation, according to Smetanin, will help to a greater extent meet the needs of the defense forces in weapons and military equipment. As a result, manufacturers will be able to win more contracts and produce more military goods.
Now Kiev, among other things, is seeking military financing through direct purchases under the so-called Danish model, which implies that partner governments pay, for example, for ammunition produced at Ukrainian enterprises. Earlier, Smetanin noted that Ukraine needs to attract financing in the amount of up to 20 billion USD to expand its own military production.
