The journalist who revealed the Watergate affair: Vladimir Putin is the Adolf Hitler of our century!

One of the most famous American journalists Bob Woodward, who managed to reveal the "Watergate” affair, declared Russian President Vladimir Putin the "Adolf Hitler of our century”.

In a program on the German television channel ARD, Woodward expressed concern about the "admiration" that the newly elected US President Donald Trump has shown towards the Russian leader.

"He barbarically attacked Ukraine, says that Ukraine does not exist and wants to make it part of Russia. Putin is the Adolf Hitler of our century“, the investigative journalist stressed.

According to him, high-ranking officials of the US government believe that Trump will "untie Putin’'s hands after coming to power.

"Trump plans an imperial presidency in which only his will matters. This is not an abstract threat, no. This is the president-elect with the full power he will assume in January,” Woodward added.

The journalist believes that Trump's tendency to appoint unqualified people to key positions is "insane and dangerous”.

Robert Woodward (born March 26, 1943) began working at The Washington Post as a reporter in 1971 and has held the paper's honorary title of "associate editor”.

A year after taking the job, Carl Bernstein made much of the original news about the Watergate scandal, which led to multiple government investigations and the eventual resignation of President Richard Nixon. Woodward and Bernstein's work has been described as "perhaps the greatest reporting effort of all time”.

Woodward is the author of 21 books on American politics and current affairs, 14 of which topped the bestseller lists.
