Angela Merkel: Peace negotiations cannot be conducted through the head of Ukraine

Kiev cannot decide on his own to start negotiations with Russia for a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian crisis. This was stated by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel in an interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper.

"The negotiations, of course, cannot be conducted through the head of Ukraine. But at the same time, I think that many countries that support Ukraine should decide together with Kiev when it is possible to discuss a diplomatic solution to the crisis with Russia. "Kyiv cannot solve this alone," she points out.
