German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is convinced that Russian President Vladimir Putin already considers himself the winner of the war against Ukraine and intends to continue fighting for a new world order, writes Der Spiegel.
"Russian aggression against Ukraine has long ceased to be a regional war”, the minister notes.
Pistorius points out that Putin has "completely reoriented the Russian economy on a military basis”, with Russia producing as many weapons and ammunition in three months as the entire European Union in a year.
Against the background of the continued threat from Moscow, the German minister points out that more investment is needed in "military preparedness" of Germany.
"Our security is a fragile commodity," he added.
