The city of Yavne, located south of Tel Aviv, was targeted by a drone believed to have been launched from Yemen, the Israeli army said. The impact hit the top floor of a 15-story building, causing a fire. Fortunately, no one was injured, the Magen David Adom emergency service specified, quoted by BTA.
Yesterday, another attack from Yemen was prevented after a ballistic missile fired at Israel was successfully intercepted by Israel's anti-missile system.
The Yemeni Houthi rebels, allies of Iran, are believed to be behind the attacks. Like the Lebanese group “Hezbollah”, the Houthis continue to carry out attacks against Israel, despite the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
The Yemeni group said its actions were a sign of support for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The conflict in the region escalated after Israel was attacked by “Hamas” on October 7, 2023, leading to prolonged fighting and tension throughout the region.
