The suspect detained in the murder of high-ranking Russian general Igor Kirillov has been taken to the crime scene in Moscow, Reuters reported.

General Kirillov, the head of Russia's radiation, chemical and biological defense forces, was killed outside the apartment building where he lived. He died along with his assistant when an explosive device attached to an electric scooter detonated.

"Izvestia" showed a man in handcuffs walking down a Moscow street, accompanied by Russian police. Yesterday, Russian investigators detained an Uzbek man who admitted to planting and detonating the bomb that killed Kirillov. He said he had acted on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

Russian intelligence knows who ordered the assassination of Russian General Igor Kirillov, the Kremlin said yesterday, as quoted by Reuters. Ukraine is using the methods of terrorists, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia's radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBZ) troops, and his assistant, Major Ilya Polikarpov, were killed in an explosion in an apartment building on "Ryazansky Prospekt" in Moscow. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan had been detained on suspicion of the murder, who said he had acted on behalf of Ukrainian special services.
