The Russian airport in Kazan has temporarily suspended flights, the Russian air traffic control agency "Rosaviatsia" said on its Telegram channel today, after Ukrainian drones attacked the city, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Russian state media reported a drone attack on a residential complex in Kazan, a city about 800 km east of Moscow. TASS reported eight drone strikes, including six on residential buildings.
Russian agencies did not report any casualties, citing local authorities. The Telegram channel "Baza", which is close to Russian security services, published unverified videos showing an airborne object crashing into a tall building, causing a large fireball.
"Rosaviatsia" also announced the introduction of temporary restrictions on the operation of the airport in Izhevsk, a smaller city northeast of Kazan.
