The left in France introduces a vote of no confidence after the prime minister's speech - 1

Shortly after the speech of the new French Prime Minister François Bayrou before the National Assembly last night, in which he presented the political program of the government, the left-wing party "France Unrestrained" introduced a motion for a vote of no confidence. This step was justified by criticism of the composition of the cabinet and Bayrou's budget policy, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

The proposal also received support from communist and environmental groups, Agence France-Presse said.

Although the government is likely to maintain its position after the vote, the initiative highlights its instability, as the cabinet does not have a majority in the lower house of parliament.

In December, “France Insubordinate“, other left-wing parties and the far-right bloc led by Marine Le Pen, brought down the previous government of Michel Barnier in a similar vote.

The new vote could take place as early as tomorrow. The Greens have already said they will vote against Bayrou's government. The far-right is maintaining its support for now, but does not rule out the possibility of changing its position later, as happened with Barnier's cabinet.

The Socialists have signaled that they would refrain from supporting the vote of no confidence if Bayrou makes concessions on the pension system.
