A number of world leaders have urged the United States not to withdraw from climate agreements and the World Health Organization (WHO), bTV reported.
„We want increased cooperation with all who share our ideas. Logically - here I include our closest partners. Of course, I mean the US. Our economies are the most integrated in the world. European companies in the United States employ 3.5 million Americans,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“We hope that the United States will reconsider its decision and look forward to engaging in a constructive dialogue to preserve the partnership between the United States and the WHO for the benefit of the health and well-being of millions of people around the world,” said Tarik Jasarevic, a spokesman for the World Health Organization.
The decisions to withdraw the United States from the WHO and the Paris Agreement were taken by newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump just hours after he was sworn in.
He signed a series of executive orders that reversed a number of policies of the previous administration.
Trump said he would meet with Putin and spoke positively about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
According to analysts, some of his decrees will face resistance in court, and some even violate the Constitution.
For the president, the busy day ended with a sword-cutting cake and three balls.
