Ukrainian air defenses shot down 50 of 72 drones launched by Russia last night and the armed forces attacked one of Russia's largest oil refineries, Reuters reported, citing the Ukrainian military, BTA reported.

Military and civilian authorities have not yet reported any casualties or damage. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had used 1,250 aerial bombs, more than 750 attack drones and more than 20 missiles in attacks on Ukraine over the past week.

„Only determination can stop such terrorists. "We are constantly working with our partners to strengthen our defense capabilities and limit Russia's ability to terrorize Ukraine," Zelensky wrote in a post on Telegram.

“Long-range strike capabilities are critically important. Sanctions are vital. Lowering oil prices is important. It is crucial to act unitedly and defend lives with determination,” he added.

The General Staff in Kiev said today that its forces had again attacked a Russian oil refinery in the city of Ryazan last night, reporting explosions and a fire in the area. “The Ryazan oil refinery is one of the four largest refineries in the Russian Federation“, a statement on “Telegram“ said.

The Russian Defense Ministry said air defense systems had destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones over Russia and two naval drones in the Black Sea. The ministry said eight drones were shot down over the Ryazan region, six drones were destroyed in the Kursk region and one drone was hit over the Belgorod region.

Ryazan region governor Pavel Malkov said on Tuesday that there were no casualties in the latest drone attacks, but authorities were still assessing the damage.
