At least 12 people were killed and 30 injured in US airstrikes on Yemen's capital, which is under the control of the Houthi movement, the rebel health ministry said.
“According to preliminary data, the death toll from the US attack on the market in the Farwa area has increased to 12, while another 30 people were injured“, the ministry quoted the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah TV channel as saying.
The health ministry stressed that rescue teams continue to search for victims under the rubble and the number may increase.
According to the channel, significant material damage was caused to residential buildings and commercial premises located in area.
Earlier, Al Masirah TV reported that US aircraft had carried out several strikes on areas of the Yemeni capital. It said four more airstrikes had hit Saada province in the northwestern part of the country.
