Trump administration cuts Harvard University funding by another $1 billion - 1

The Trump administration intends to reduce Harvard University's funding by another $1 billion because of the school's refusal to change its policy, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing its sources.

According to the media, federal funding for medical research at the university will be cut.

Harvard University President Alan Garber previously said that the school would not accept the Trump administration's demands to change its policy to protect Jewish students from anti-Semitism.

On April 15, Trump proposed that Harvard be treated as a political organization and stripped of its tax-exempt status. The Department of Education announced a freeze on $2.2 billion in grants to Harvard and $60 million in long-term contracts.

It was also reported that the US administration intends to review grants and contracts with this elite higher education institution worth a total of about $9 billion.
