Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Qatar today, where he will meet with senior representatives of the radical Palestinian group “Hamas“. This was announced by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The visit comes at a key moment in diplomatic efforts in the region, especially given the current developments surrounding the conflict in the Middle East. The meetings in Qatar are expected to address topics related to support for Palestinian factions and recent military-political events.
Exchange of Israeli Hostages for Palestinian Prisoners
Araghchi's visit today coincides with the expected prisoner swap between Israel and Palestinian groups. In the southern Gaza Strip, in the city of Khan Yunis, fighters from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committee are already at the location where the exchange will take place.
According to a statement by a spokesman for the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, published on the Telegram app, the procedures for the handover of two Israeli hostages have already been completed.
Details of the prisoner exchange
A total of three Israeli hostages are expected to be released in exchange for 110 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. This is part of the third phase of the ceasefire agreement between the countries, which aims to reduce tensions in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister's visit to Qatar at this critical time highlights the country's role in the Middle East conflict and its efforts to support Palestinian groups.
