Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expresses concerns about Donald Trump's slogan "America First", which, according to him, has "alarming similarities" to the Nazi slogan "Germany Above All", reports News.bg.
Lavrov emphasizes that such an approach could lead to the weakening of diplomacy and the rise of the principle of force as a means of resolving conflicts. He criticized US representatives who do not show respect for the UN Charter, and warned that this undermines the foundations of international relations and stability.
The Russian view on global geopolitical changes and the new US administration
According to Lavrov, the time after World War II, when the US and its allies dominated global politics, has already passed. Although the US is still trying to impose its old understandings, new demographic, economic and geopolitical realities no longer allow for a return to the previous order. Lavrov explained that the US will have to adapt to the new multipolar international structure, in which Russia, China and other global powers are playing an increasingly important role.
Russia and the strategic work on multipolarity and international legal consensus
Lavrov stressed that Russia will continue to work with its allies to create conditions for the practical construction of international relations that reflect the new multipolarity. He draws attention to the importance of international legal consensus, as well as Russia's commitment to the UN Charter. Lavrov emphasizes that the new global power structure is not a threat to world stability, but an opportunity for new ideas and more responsible participation of all global players.
