Europe must regain its former greatness and stop kneeling before the left-wing extremist agenda, said the leader of the Dutch far-right Freedom Party Geert Wilders at a meeting of the leaders of the right-wing conservative parties that formed the European Parliament faction “Patriots of Europe“.
“The world is changing rapidly before our eyes and we are at the forefront of these transformations“, he noted. “Trump has caused a real political earthquake in the world. And although we may not agree with everything he does and says, he brings a message of hope after years of suffering, corruption and deceit at the hands of the left-liberal elites.“ “Trump is like a brother in arms to us. It marks the beginning of a golden age for America and we must make Europe great again," he added.
“We refuse to kneel before the extremist agenda of the left“, Wilders said. “We refuse to be influenced by multiculturalists who try to make us feel guilty.“ “People all over Europe want us to restore their sanity and moral clarity. They want us to protect hardworking citizens, the elderly and vulnerable people. And we will do it,“ said the leader of the Freedom Party.
The “Patriots of Europe“ faction was created after the 2024 European Parliament elections. It was attended by 84 MEPs representing 14 parties from 12 countries. The leader of the French National Rally party was elected chairman. Jordan Bardella.
„Patriots of Europe“ emerged as the third largest faction in the European Parliament after the European People's Party and the "Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats" coalition. The liberal-democratic and centrist parties still have a significantly larger number of votes in the EU legislature and, as before, form the European Commission.
