Qatar disagrees with Benjamin Netanyahu - 1

Qatar has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements on the possible creation of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, calling on the international community to resist Israeli provocations. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the emirate's foreign ministry in X.

“The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the provocative statements of the Israeli Prime Minister regarding the creation of a Palestinian state on the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and considers them a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter“, the text of the document reads. Qatar's Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with Riyadh and called on the international community to "resist Israeli provocations." On February 6, during an interview with Netanyahu, the host of Israeli Channel 14 apparently misspoke when he said "the Saudi state" instead of "the Palestinian state." The Israeli prime minister corrected him, adding, "Unless you want a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, they have a lot of territory." The kingdom's Foreign Ministry rejected Netanyahu's words, stressing that such statements are intended to distract attention from the crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

In late January, US President Donald Trump said that he considered it possible to resettle Gazans who lost their homes as a result of fighting in Arab countries, mentioning Egypt and Jordan in this context. On February 4, Trump, at a joint press conference with Netanyahu after talks at the White House, said that the United States was considering long-term ownership of the Gaza Strip in order to develop it in the interests of peace in the Middle East. He also advocated the relocation of Palestinians from the enclave to other countries in the region, which, in his opinion, could pay for this. Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries have spoken out against the implementation of Trump's ideas.
