Caracas has sent two planes to the US to return Venezuelan migrants to their homeland, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry announced today, BTA reports.
This comes ten days after the visit of a special envoy of US President Donald Trump to the Venezuelan capital.
“Venezuela informs its people and the world that two planes are currently on their way to Venezuelan soil to transfer to our territory Venezuelan migrant compatriots who were in the US“, the official statement said.
This move is part of Caracas' efforts to repatriate Venezuelan citizens who have left the country in search of better living conditions. However, the context of the repatriation raises questions about migration policy and relations between Washington and Caracas.
