Pope Francis said he could not help but read the catechism talk at his general audience today because of pneumonia, SIR (Servizio Informazione Religiosa) reported.
“With my bronchitis I can't read. I hope next time I can”, the pope said, addressing pilgrims at the Vatican. He then asked his assistant to read the text.
At the opening of the popular Italian music festival “San Remo“ yesterday, the pope spoke via video. In his message, he described music as an instrument of peace and "a language spoken by all peoples, so that it can reach all hearts."
“May good music reach the heart of everyone“, Pope Francis said, once again calling for an end to wars around the world. “Wars destroy children. Let us never forget that war is always a defeat”, said the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
“We were not born to kill. Let us find ways to peace”, Pope Francis said, pointing to the wars in Ukraine, Palestine, South Sudan and other parts of the world. Let us pray for peace, the pope urged.
