President Volodymyr Zelensky announced "significant results" in relation to Ukraine's missile program after the successful tests of the Long Neptune missile, UNIAN reports, quoted by Focus.
In a message on his Telegram channel, Zelensky said that Ukraine has developed a missile with a range of 1,000 km.
"There are reports on the progress of our missile program. We have significant results. The "Neptune" missile was tested and successfully used in combat operations. This is a new Ukrainian precision-strike missile," Zelensky said.
"The missile's range is a thousand kilometers. Thank you to our Ukrainian developers, manufacturers and servicemen. We continue to work to ensure the security of Ukraine," he added.
According to UNIAN, if confirmed, Ukraine's ability to strike targets at a distance of 1,000 km could have a significant impact on the battlefield.
The media recalls that at the end of 2023 it became known that Ukraine was developing a new modification of the missile for the domestic missile complex "Neptune".
