French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has confirmed that Paris will host an EU security summit on February 17.
„Tomorrow, President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron will gather heads of state and government in Paris to discuss important issues of European security. "We are talking about a working meeting," he said on France Inter radio.
Barrot added that "there is nothing dramatic about this meeting, such contacts happen regularly."
He refused to name the names of the participants in the meeting, saying that "the event is still being prepared."
On February 14, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski mentioned Macron's invitation to European leaders in Paris for a meeting on Ukraine and European security. He did not specify who would participate in it. The AFP agency also wrote about the possibility of such a meeting.
