Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his visit to Saudi Arabia, planned for Wednesday, "has no connection" with the negotiations between the US and Russia, planned in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Ukraine knew nothing about this. "And Ukraine believes that negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine will not yield results," Zelensky stressed, adding that Kiev will not recognize the agreements reached during such negotiations.
The Ukrainian president noted that he would ask Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman about the negotiations.
Zelensky also told reporters that the US President's special envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg is expected to arrive in Kiev on Thursday, February 20, and spend at least two days in the country.
"I want to go to the front with him, and I think he will not refuse," Zelensky said.
On Monday, February 17, Zelensky visited the United Arab Emirates, where, among other things, he discussed the role of the UAE in the release of Ukrainians from Russian captivity.
We recall that a delegation of Ukraine, but according to reports, will not participate in these negotiations, but is working on the upcoming visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the kingdom.
Europe will also probably not be represented at these negotiations, and European leaders will gather in Paris today, with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also participating in the talks.
