Estonia has promised to provide new military aid to Ukraine to support its resistance against Russia, whose invasion of the neighboring country marks three years tomorrow, DPA reported.
Tallinn will send Kiev military equipment of its own production worth 100 million euros, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said in a speech last night at the National Museum of Estonia in the city of Tartu.
"We have also decided with the government to purchase ten thousand artillery shells and send them to Ukraine as soon as possible," Michal said.
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur explained in a post on the "Ex" social platform, that the shells will be 155-millimeter.
"Our armed forces will also deliver 750,000 packages of their food supplies to Ukraine," the prime minister added.
A representative of the defense ministry has already provided a list of products and services offered by Estonian companies, with Ukraine told to choose what to include in the food aid in accordance with the needs of its army.
"Ukraine can count on Estonia both now and in the future," Prime Minister Michal stressed in Tartu, which is Estonia's second-largest city and is located less than 50 kilometers from the Russian border.
