The radical movement Hamas accused the Israeli authorities of deviating from the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
This is how the representative of the movement Mahmoud Mardavi commented on the statement of the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Jewish state accepts the proposal of the special envoy of the US President, Stephen Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan and Passover.
“The latest statement from Netanyahu's office confirms the repeated deviation by the occupation authorities of the agreements they signed“, Mardavi said in a statement quoted by the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera. According to the radical spokesman, "the ongoing Israeli manipulation" will not return the prisoners to their families, but on the contrary, will put their lives in danger. The only way to implement the agreement is to begin implementing its second phase, which includes a ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of troops and the restoration of the Gaza Strip, Mardavi said.
As Netanyahu's office announced earlier, Israel has accepted the "Witkoff Plan", according to which on the first day of its implementation, the Palestinian radicals will release half of the living hostages and return the bodies of the dead, and eventually, if an agreement is reached on a permanent ceasefire, the remaining hostages will be released and the remaining bodies of the dead will be returned. The prime minister's office noted that if Hamas accepts the US special envoy's proposal, Israel will immediately begin negotiations on all the details of the plan.
