The leader of the Kazakh expedition was the legendary Maksut Zhumaev - a climber who conquered all 14 eight-thousanders in the world without oxygen.
Last year, Kazakhs had two more key conquests. In May, the Kazakh Everest Team consisting of Anar Burasheva and Maksut Zhumaev successfully climbed the highest peak in the world - Mount Everest (8848 meters). Anar became the first Kazakh girl to climb the highest mountain in the world.
In August, Kazakh climber Vasily Pivtsov climbed the eight-thousander Broad Peak, the twelfth highest peak in the world. Its height is 8047 meters, it is located on the border of China and Pakistan.
"This expedition is more than just a climb. It is a story about the strength of the spirit and dreams come true", the Kazakh climbers noted on their Instagram page.
