Austria's new government will be sworn in by President Alexander van der Bellen today, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The government includes representatives of the conservative Austrian People's Party, the Austrian Social Democratic Party and the liberal party "NEOS - New Austria and Liberal Forum".
The leader of the Austrian People's Party Christian Stocker will become chancellor, and the chairman of the Austrian Social Democratic Party Andreas Babler will be vice chancellor. The leader of the "NEOS" party Beate Meinl Reisinger will take over as foreign minister.
The swearing-in ceremony marks the end of a five-month-long effort to form a new government in Austria. The right-wing Freedom Party of Austria won the parliamentary elections in the fall of 2024, but with the new three-party coalition, it will have to go into opposition.
The main tasks of the new coalition include stimulating the economy and reducing the high budget deficit. The three parties also agreed on a stricter approach to migration.
